Telford Centre I 11am - 4pm
The festive season officially begins at Telford Centre on Saturday 15 November, and you’re invited to join the celebrations for a day packed with music, entertainment, giveaways, and festive fun.

Dawley Christmas Light Switch On I 12 - 6pm - lights on at 5pm
Dawley is set to shine this festive season as the much-loved Christmas Lights Switch-On returns to Dawley High Street and Dawley Park. This joyful event marks the beginning of the holiday celebrations and promises an afternoon filled with festive fun for all ages.
Visitors can look forward to a vibrant programme of activities including free rides and attractions, live music and entertainment, face painting, balloon modelling, and a variety of community stalls offering seasonal treats and local crafts.
The highlight of the day will be the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 5pm, taking place at the Bandstand. Families, friends, and visitors are invited to gather and watch Dawley light up in a spectacular display, bringing festive cheer to the heart of the town.
With something for everyone, the Dawley Christmas Lights Switch-On is the perfect way to kick off the season, enjoy the community spirit, and soak up the magical atmosphere.
Newport Christmas Light Switch On | Newport High Street | 10am -7pm
Newport Town Centre will come alive with festive cheer as the town hosts its biggest and brightest Christmas Lights Switch-On yet. This year’s event has been transformed into a full-day celebration, offering seasonal entertainment and activities for all ages.
Visitors can begin their day from 10am with a browse around the market stalls, ideal for picking up early Christmas gifts and festive treats. From midday, live stage performances will run through to 6:45pm, providing a lively soundtrack to the day’s festivities.
A funfair with rides and attractions will keep families entertained, while the giant inflatable snow globe offers the perfect winter photo opportunity. Santa’s Grotto will be open from 10am to 4pm, giving children the chance to meet Father Christmas in a magical setting.
As evening approaches, the lantern parade will lead the way to the main event. At 6pm, the Christmas lights will be officially switched on, joined by the cast of Nova Panto. Visitors can also enjoy a living nativity and meet the donkey.

The highlight of the afternoon will take place at 6pm, when the Christmas lights are officially switched on, followed by a stunning firework display to light up the night sky and mark the beginning of the festive season.
With plenty to see and do, the Malinslee Christmas Lights Switch-On is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate with friends, family, and neighbours.
Ironbridge Christmas Light Switch on | Ironbridge High Street | 2-6pm
Ironbridge will welcome the festive season in spectacular style with the launch of its first ever Christmas Market, alongside the much-anticipated Christmas Lights Switch-On and a fireworks finale.
From 2:00pm to 6:00pm, the Wharfage will be transformed into a festive marketplace, filled with twinkling lights, seasonal cheer, and a wide variety of stalls offering gifts, food, and festive treats. Visitors can browse, shop, and soak up the atmosphere in one of Shropshire’s most iconic settings.
The event promises entertainment for the whole family, with festive activities and live performances throughout the afternoon. As the day draws to a close, crowds will gather for the highlight of the evening, the Christmas Lights Switch-On at 5pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the Ironbridge skyline.

Madeley Christmas Lights Switch on | Madeley Centre | 9am-5pm
The festive season in Madeley begins with the much-loved Christmas Lights Switch-On, taking place on Saturday 29 November. This annual event is a highlight for the local community, marking the official start of Christmas celebrations in the town.
Visitors can enjoy a Christmas street market, a variety of family-friendly activities, a magical Santa’s grotto, and a charming lantern parade. The day concludes with the grand finale the switch-on of the Christmas lights, bringing sparkle and festive cheer to Madeley’s streets.
Wellington Christmas Light Switch on I Market Square, Wellington I 12- 6pm
Wellington will come alive with festive cheer on as the town hosts its annual Christmas Lights Switch-On. The celebrations begin at 12 noon, offering entertainment and activities for all ages across various locations.
Highlights include performances in the Square by the Shrewsbury Musical Theatre Company, TADLOP, and the Wellington Brass Band. Families can enjoy the popular ‘Silly Santa Science Show’, a puppet show, and festive previews from the Belfrey Theatre and Wellington Community Musical at All Saints. Father Christmas will be welcoming children to his grotto at All Saints Parish Centre.
Throughout the day, Wellington Orbit will be hosting festive film screenings, adding to the seasonal atmosphere.
The event builds to a joyful finale at 4pm, when Mayor Reg Snell leads the Christmas singalong in the Square and officially switches on the town’s new-look Christmas lights. The event concludes at 6pm.
