About
Telford Town Park is fantastic for a scenic bike ride with 14 miles of cycle friendly pathways leading off The Silkin Way and Sustrans route 55.
Built along disused canal beds and historic railway lines, it makes for an awesome trail and its traffic free all the way.
Route 55
As you cycle through Southwater and into the Telford Town Park, cycle route 55 is part of the national cycle network. Follow the signs for Route 55 or pick up a map from the visitor centre.
This route will take you through the park and into Ironbridge without the need for main road access, perfect for children and families.
Visit Telford & Wrekin Council website to download a copy of Telford & Wrekin's walking and cycling map.
Another handy website is CycleStreets which a UK-wide cycle journey planner system, which lets you plan routes from A to B by bike. It is designed by cyclists, for cyclists, and caters for the needs of both confident and less confident cyclists.
