About
Travel back in time and experience a traditional Victorian Christmas at Blists Hill Victorian Town.
In the run-up to Christmas, the town will be dressed for winter with roaring fires in the cottages, offering a warm and atmospheric glimpse into life in the 1900s. Streets and buildings will be adorned with traditional decorations, celebrating the origins of many seasonal customs we know and love today.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of festive activities, including:
- Writing thank you letters for Christmas gifts with help from a Victorian school teacher.
- Following one of two Christmas trails designed for different age groups, each with a gift at the end.
- Exploring lively streets filled with characters from A Christmas Carol.
- Making a festive pomander, printing a Victorian Dickens-style poster, or writing a letter to Father Christmas and sealing it with wax.
- Making a Christmas wish on the wishing tree.
- Browsing the toy shop pop-up and gift emporium for presents.
There will also be live festive music from choirs and brass bands, plus dramatic retellings of A Christmas Carol and other seasonal stories in the special Victoria & Albert Playhouse.
Treats include traditional fish and chips, old-fashioned sweets, and warming drinks such as hot chocolate or a pint in the New Inn. Visitors can also enjoy festive food from the Forest Glen and other outlets around the site. Children can blow away the Christmas cobwebs in the Madeley Wood Co. Outdoor Adventure woodland play area.
Entry is included with a standard admission ticket and free for PASS, PASS PLUS and ALL SITES ticket holders. Advance booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
