The World Famous Iron Bridge

About

The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Day returns on Sunday 20 September 2026, celebrating the rich history and vibrant culture of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This special day features a packed programme of events including live music, street entertainment, arts and crafts, a family dog show, and much more.

Running from 11am to 5pm across Dale End Park and the High Street, the day brings together heritage, entertainment and community spirit in one of the world's most significant industrial landscapes.

On the High Street, enjoy roaming folk entertainment from Greenfinger Folk and Rambling On, live music from local bands on the bridge stage, and a range of stalls from local groups including the Severn Gorge Trust, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Canal & River Trust, Cat Protection, Wrekin Soroptimists, Smallwoods and Nanny's Craft Unique. There's plenty to keep younger visitors entertained too, with a boardroom gaming café, puppet-making and story writing with the Coracle Trust, clay tile making at the Creation Station, and face painting.

At Dale End Park, the popular Rotary Family Fun Dog Show returns from midday, with entry from just £3 on the day and classes to suit every dog. Families can also get hands-on with nature at the Severn Rivers Trust's free environmental workshops — River Wildlife, Eco-Detectives, Wonderful Water and Water Hero Academy — running across the weekend of 19–20 September (booking required via the links below)

The celebrations don't stop there, as part of Heritage Open Days (11–20 September), NT Ironbridge Gorge will open their doors at both Broseley Pipe Works and Coalport China Museum to tell the story of the "Industrious Women" who shaped the Gorge's industrial past.

Whether you're after live music, heritage discovery, family activities or a great day out with the dog, Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Day has something for everyone.
