This beginner’s basketmaking course introduces participants to the tools and techniques of the heritage craft of willow weaving.

During the workshop, participants are shown how to make their own small round basket. The session covers each stage of the process, including making a round base, staking up the basket, weaving the sides, turning down the border and adding a handle.

The finished basket is a practical size, suitable for foraging berries, collecting eggs or storing household items. Clear guidance is provided throughout the course, making it accessible for those new to willow weaving.

By the end of the workshop, participants will take home their completed small round basket.
