Exotic Zoo has received some award news whilst preparing for its Superhero event in Telford this weekend.
The small Shropshire zoo has been shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Shropshire Chamber Business Awards. They are finalists in the following categories: Business Champion – Business in the Community, Retail, Leisure and Hospitality Achievement, and Excellence in Tourism and Leisure. They were the only business to be shortlisted in all three categories that they entered.
The zoo is based in Telford Town Park and is split into a rainforest zone, desert zone, nocturnal area, farmyard, and natural history museum. Visitors can meet a range of animals from meerkats, monkeys, and owls to skunks, armadillos and capybara.
This weekend, Exotic Zoo is hosting a Superhero Weekend on April 25 and 26. Visitors are encouraged to dress up, don capes and cosplay costumes and compete in the fancy dress competition.
The zookeepers will be hosting shows that shine a spotlight on their animals’ superpowers, and there will be superhero meet-and-greets.
Wenlock Water’s CoolerTron Droid H-20 will be making a special appearance at the event, promoting sustainability. Local heroes will receive discounted entry when they show their blue light card.
Exotic Zoo is based in Telford Town Park and is open daily from 11am – 4pm. Adult tickets are £12, child tickets are £10, and under 2s go free.
