The Southwater Event Group, (SEG) today announces that the Holiday Inn Telford-Ironbridge has officially rebranded to voco Telford Ironbridge.

voco is IHG Hotels & Resorts fastest growing premium brand and is known for offering distinct and thoughtful guest experiences.

The rebrand follows a significant refurbishment programme which has seen £5.5 million invested over the last twelve months.

Tom Gray, business owner of the Southwater Event Group, which comprises voco Telford Ironbridge, Ramada Telford, the International Hotel Telford, and the leading UK business event space, Telford International Centre with its on-site production arm, Stagecraftuk, comments: “I am delighted to announce that the rebrand to a voco hotel is now officially complete. This upgrade to a premium brand is a natural progression of our thirty-six-year business relationship with IHG and will be a very welcome addition to destination Telford.”

He continued: "Both business and leisure guests will enjoy the new contemporary feel, upgraded bedroom facilities and our appetising food and drink menus offered in the Olive Tree Restaurant and Bar.”

Tom concludes: “The rebrand has been a team effort and in particular I would like to thank our Southwater Event Group Directors, Wendy Ford (Group Hotels Director) and David Coe (Group Hotels Operations Director) for overseeing every aspect of the refurbishment over the last year”.

Wendy Ford says, “This hotel has been such a huge part of my life and career. I still remember the excitement and pride we all felt when we welcomed our very first guest back in May 1990. To now lead the hotel into its next chapter as voco Telford Ironbridge is incredibly special. I am immensely proud of our team, our history, and everything this rebrand represents for the future.”

She continued, “Our guests have always been at the heart of everything we do. As we become a voco hotel, we’re building on the strong foundations we’ve created over the last thirty-six years while introducing something vibrant, modern, and full of personality.”

David Coe adds, “Managing the refurbishment from start to finish has been a huge undertaking, but also an incredibly rewarding experience. Every change has been focused around creating a more modern, premium, and experience-led destination while still keeping the warmth and personality that guests associate with the hotel.”

He concludes, “It has also been fantastic seeing the team embrace all the changes. A rebrand of this scale is not just about physical refurbishment; it is about creating a new culture, new energy, and a renewed sense of pride amongst our experienced colleagues. We really want voco Telford Ironbridge to become more than just a hotel, we want it to be a destination guests actively choose for experiences, celebrations, dining, and memorable stays.”

Exciting new additions to the hotel include natural plants and foliage to public areas, a completely refreshed Olive Tree Restaurant, Bar and Lounge area and improved WiFi connections.

Guests can also still enjoy free parking, access to the Revive Leisure Club and membership of the IHG Rewards Loyalty Programme.
