A new summer park and ride service is making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to enjoy some of Telford most popular destinations.

Running every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday from 10 July to 13 September 2026, Wrekin Connect is a new trial service linking The Wrekin, Wellington and the Ironbridge Gorge, offering a convenient and affordable way to explore the borough without the need for a car.

The service is open to everyone travelling along the route, including visitors using the Ironbridge Gorge Park and Ride at Jiggers Bank car park, where parking is free throughout the summer. It also provides a useful connection for those arriving in Wellington by train or bus, making it easy to continue their journey to The Wrekin and the Ironbridge Gorge.

Passengers can hop on and off throughout the day for just £2, with children and concessionary pass holders travelling free. Whether you're planning a walk up The Wrekin, a day exploring the World Heritage Site, or a visit to Wellington’s shops, cafés and market, Wrekin Connect makes it simple to experience more in a single trip.

The route serves a number of popular attractions and destinations, including:

  • The Wrekin
  • Wellington town centre
  • Madeley High Street
  • Ironbridge Wharfage
  • Blists Hill Victorian Town
  • Jackfield Tile Museum
  • Attractions across the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site

Wrekin Connect launches alongside the return of the Ironbridge Gorge Park and Ride service and forms part of wider efforts to improve connections between some of the borough’s most visited destinations while helping to reduce traffic and parking pressures during the busy summer season.

The service will also support the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site Festival, making it even easier for visitors to travel between attractions, events and activities taking place across the Gorge later this summer.
