Embers Fire Festival returns to Ironbridge Gorge for May Bank Holiday 2027

Embers Fire Festival will return to Ironbridge Gorge on 1 and 2 May 2027 following a successful inaugural event that brought together live fire cooking, music, family entertainment and artisan producers in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Taking place at Dale End Park, Ironbridge, the festival will once again celebrate open flame cooking with a packed programme of demonstrations, street food, live music and activities for all ages across the May Bank Holiday weekend.

Created by Embers Café Ironbridge and fire cooking specialist Adam Purnell, also known as The Shropshire Lad, the event has quickly established itself as one of the region's most distinctive food and lifestyle festivals. Visitors can expect a vibrant atmosphere, exceptional food experiences and the chance to enjoy everything Ironbridge Gorge has to offer.

The 2027 event will once again showcase leading names from the world of live fire cooking alongside independent food traders, artisan producers and a varied programme of entertainment across the weekend.

Set against the backdrop of Ironbridge Gorge, the festival offers the perfect opportunity to combine a day at the event with exploring the area's heritage attractions, independent shops, riverside walks and accommodation.

Adam Purnell, Founder of Embers Fire Festival, said: " The Ironbridge Gorge is the perfect place to host this festival. It's where the industrial revolution was born and where I opened my first fire cooking café, so combining world class food and music in this setting feels like a perfect fit."
