Shakespeare Under the Stars at Attingham Park

The Pantaloons bring their hilarious open-air production of Twelfth Night to Attingham Park.

Mistaken identities, practical jokes and a shipwrecked pair of twins are heading to Attingham Park when The Pantaloons present an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night on Saturday 5 September.

The performance will take place on the lawn in front of the Mansion at National Trust Attingham Park, with audiences invited to bring a picnic and enjoy an evening of theatre outdoors. Gates open at 5.30pm ahead of the 6.30pm performance.

The Pantaloons' adaptation follows twins Viola and Sebastian, who become separated after a shipwreck and find themselves navigating a world of confusion, disguises and unexpected romance on the island of Illyria. The production combines Shakespeare's original story with the theatre company's comic style.

“Outdoor theatre is a great way to experience the Mansion and parkland in a different setting. The Pantaloons bring plenty of humour and energy to their performances, and Twelfth Night offers an enjoyable evening for both regular theatre-goers and those discovering Shakespeare for the first time.”

The performance is suitable for all ages and runs for around two hours, including a short interval. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own seating or blankets and dress for the weather.

Events such as outdoor theatre help the National Trust connect people with the places in its care through shared experiences in historic settings.

Tickets cost £16 for adults and £10 for children aged 15 and under. Places are limited and advance booking is essential.
