One of Telford's most popular family events is set to return when Telford Krazy Races comes back to Telford Town Park on Sunday 11 July 2027.
Following a successful debut that attracted around 7,000 spectators, the gravity powered soapbox racing event will once again bring a day of colourful competition, inventive kart designs and family entertainment to the park.
Visitors can look forward to watching teams race homemade karts down a challenging course packed with twists, turns, chicanes and obstacles. Alongside the racing, awards will recognise everything from speed and engineering to creativity, costume design and crowd pleasing performances.
The inaugural event featured 26 teams and raised more than £10,000 for local good causes. Organisers expect strong demand once again, with team entries now open to businesses, schools, colleges, community groups, charities, families and groups of friends.
Danny Scoffin, Head of Business at Krazy Races, said: "We always hoped Telford would embrace Krazy Races, but the response to our first event was beyond anything we could have expected.
"We saw some amazing teams last year who have set the bar very high, so now we're challenging teams to come up with something we've never seen before."
As well as the racing action, visitors can enjoy food and drink stalls and a lively festival atmosphere in the surroundings of Telford Town Park.
Team spaces for the 2027 event are available on a first come, first served basis.
