About
To celebrate the 40th year of the World Heritage Site, visitors are invited to join Amber from Severn Gorge Countryside Trust on a guided walk along the Iron Trail.
The walk follows sections of the Iron Trail through Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge, offering the chance to learn more about the rich industrial heritage of the area. Along the route, there will be plenty of stops to talk about the history and significance of the landscape, with the walk taken at a relaxed and leisurely pace.
The route is approximately three miles in length and includes steps and slopes, so participants should be prepared for uneven terrain. Suitable outdoor footwear and clothing are recommended to ensure comfort throughout the walk.
Participants are advised to bring water and snacks for the duration of the walk, as the session focuses on exploring the heritage of the area rather than speed or distance.
This walk is part of Telford Walk Week 2026 - discover more FREE guided walks taking place here.
