About
This community-led charity fundraising event takes place in the historic Ironbridge Gorge during the last bank holiday weekend in May. Set against a dramatic and authentic backdrop, it brings history to life by recreating experiences from the Second World War on both the Home Front and in occupied Europe.
Visitors can explore a lively re-enactment environment featuring civilian life, military displays and camps, with Allied and Axis re-enactors portraying the realities of wartime Britain and Europe. The event aims to educate, commemorate and engage audiences of all ages, offering a respectful and immersive insight into this important period of history.
Originally starting on a small scale, the event has developed into a well-established annual fixture in the local calendar, attracting visitors from across the region and beyond. It is organised on a non-profit basis and is run entirely to raise funds and awareness for military charities.
The event proudly supports organisations that work to help wounded and injured service personnel, using their experience, resilience and skills to inspire recovery and support a positive future. Proceeds from the weekend contribute towards these vital causes, ensuring the event delivers both an engaging visitor experience and a meaningful community benefit.
