Marvellous Mammals: Family Friendly Walk

About

Families are invited to join Amber for a guided wildlife walk exploring the woodlands around Loamhole Dingle and Jiggers Bank.

During the walk, participants will search for signs of mammals and other wildlife that use the area, learning how to spot clues left behind in the natural environment. The session is designed to be hands‑on and engaging, encouraging children to explore and discover more about local wildlife.

There will be the opportunity to have a go at casting animal footprints, weather permitting, as well as gathering natural materials to create miniature homes for wildlife. These activities add a creative element to the walk while helping to build understanding of how animals live and interact with their surroundings.

The route includes uneven terrain, steps and slopes, and is therefore not suitable for pushchairs. Participants are advised to wear suitable outdoor footwear and play clothes to ensure comfort and safety throughout the walk.

Snacks and drinks will be available at the end of the session, providing a chance to relax and reflect on the discoveries made during the walk. This family‑friendly experience offers an enjoyable way to explore the woodland environment and learn more about the wildlife that calls it home.
