Discover the art of pottery wheel throwing in this welcoming five-week beginner pottery course, held at the historic Maws Craft Centre in Ironbridge.

Ideal for complete beginners or those looking for a refresher, this course is designed to build skills step by step across weekly sessions. Participants will be guided through essential pottery techniques, including centring clay on the wheel, pulling walls, shaping forms, trimming pots and glazing finished pieces.

With expert guidance throughout, learners can work at their own pace in a relaxed and supportive studio environment, gaining confidence on the wheel as their skills develop. Each session offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore the creative process while learning practical techniques.

This course provides a creative and rewarding way to learn a new skill, unwind, and enjoy time making something by hand. By the end of the five weeks, participants will have created their own handmade ceramics to treasure and enjoy, all within the inspiring setting of one of Ironbridge’s historic craft centres.
