The Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Festival returns from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 September 2025, celebrating the rich history and vibrant culture of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This special weekend features a packed programme of events including guided walks, arts, music, poetry, a street festival, and the much-loved Coracle Regatta.
Friday 12 September
6pm The Coalport Ferry Disaster Walk
A circular walk from the Toll House Ironbridge. Starts with a vigorous climb up Bridge Bank, made more pleasant with regular stops to look at old photographs.Then through some of the Broseley Jitties. Passing “The Red Church” and then down “Corbetts Dingle” (could be muddy) to the Boat Inn (drinks and toilets available). There will be a short presentation here covering the “Coalport Ferry Disaster”.

Saturday 13 September
- The Rotary Club of Ironbridge Family Fun Dog Show takes place with event registration from midday. A full list of competition categories can be found here.

Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust are hosting:
Clay pipemaking workshop at Coalport China Museum on Saturday 13 September
11am-3pm
Cost is £60 per person, which includes making pipes from a range of both original and 3D printed replica moulds, and firing the finished items. Clay pipe making is on the Heritage Crafts Association's Red List of endangered crafts.

Sunday 14 September
- The popular Coracle Regatta returns to Dale End Park, offering coracle races, duck races and “have-a-go” activities for all ages.
- The town’s high street will be closed for the Festival Open Day, inviting visitors to enjoy live music, meet character walkabouts, sample local food, browse gift shops and market stalls, and take part in heritage-themed activities.
Expect a day filled with traditional skills demonstrations, street entertainment and community spirit.
Ironbridge Park & Ride services will be available throughout the weekend to make your visit easy and enjoyable.
