A Johannes Vermeer is due to go under the hammer at a charity art auction, and all appears to be running smoothly. But when intelligence from an unknown source raises suspicions, everything is thrown into doubt.

In this immersive participatory experience, attendees become newly recruited detectives for the Company of International Artists, a top-secret global art detective agency. Guided by the quirky and exuberant Agents Kahlo and Dali, they must review evidence, decipher codes and crack puzzles to uncover the truth behind a case of art forgery before the culprit escapes justice.

Blending theatre and improvisation with the challenge of an escape room and the intrigue of a whodunnit, Under the Hammer is inspired by real-world art crime cases and invites audiences to take an active role in the investigation.

The production is performed, written and produced by Brave Bold Drama, a multi-award-winning theatre company based in the South West. For more than 11 years, the company has specialised in creating innovative participatory theatre experiences for all ages, combining fun, rich detail and learning.
