About

Located within 32 acres of beautiful woodland and paddocks in rural Shropshire, Hoo Zoo and Dinosaur World is one of the region’s most loved family attractions – proudly ranked the 2nd Best Zoo in the UK on TripAdvisor. This family-run destination combines the charm of a traditional zoo with exciting prehistoric adventures, immersive experiences, and hands-on fun for all ages.

Discover over 100 animal species, from familiar farmyard favourites to fascinating exotic wildlife including wolves, lemurs, meerkats, lynx, and reptiles. Meet the zoo’s biggest star – Cinnamon the capybara, a global internet sensation and enjoy unforgettable close-up encounters, with opportunities to feed or even walk with selected animals alongside experienced keepers.

Step back in time along the Hoo-rassic World trail, home to one of the UK’s largest collections of life-sized animatronic dinosaurs, as well as impressive Ice Age creatures. Younger visitors will find plenty to explore too, with indoor and outdoor play areas, mini fairground rides, go-karts, an obstacle course, and a giant sandpit.

There’s always something new to enjoy, with daily keeper talks and activities bringing each visit to life, alongside a variety of special events hosted throughout the year. From seasonal celebrations to themed experiences, guests can discover what’s coming up by visiting Hoo's events page

The zoo’s strong commitment to conservation and animal welfare shines through in every experience. With accessible pathways, family-friendly facilities, and a warm welcome for all, it’s an ideal day out for families, groups, and animal lovers of every age and ability.

Refuel and recharge

When it’s time to take a break, visitors can choose from a range of hot and cold food options at the on-site café. Picnic tables are also available throughout the zoo for those who prefer to bring their own food, making it easy for families and groups to relax and dine comfortably during their visit.
